The nine nights are dedicated to the three main goddesses of Hinduism – Parvati, Lakshmi and Saraswati. 'Navratri' means the 'nine nights'. 'Nava' means 'nine', and 'ratri' means 'night'.
Maa Chandraghanta is the third manifestation of Devi Durga and is worshipped on the 3rd day of Navratri. Maa Chandraghanta is the married form of Maa Parvati after becoming Lord Shiva’s consort.
